Jeff
Parker
Food
Consultant / FoodStylist
Determined,
talented, and ambitious, Jeff Parker founded, Food Crew,
a dynamic blend of his culinary passions – including
creating stellar food and beverage recipes, food styling
for television and print, as well as teaching and live
cooking demonstrations.
Jeff’s
love for cooking developed as a kid while watching The
French Chef with Julia Child and Graham Kerr as The
Galloping Gourmet. Re-interpreting the recipes he saw
on television, Jeff would raid his mother’s spice
cabinet and experiment with the many herbs and spices
he found, creating delicious food with big, bold flavors
. . . something that today is still his culinary signature.
Capitalizing
on his keen awareness of food trends, Jeff opened the
country’s first low-fat restaurant and grocery
store, Fresh Start Market, in 1993 in Dallas, TX. Featuring
food that was high quality, low fat, and had big flavor,
the venture was an immediate success and attracted international
media attention, including a segment on the fledgling
TV Food Network.
In 2003,
Jeff started On The Range, a personalized home chef
service in Los Angeles for busy professionals and families
who don’t have time to cook, yet want to nourish
themselves with meals that are fresh, appetizing, and
as nutritious as possible. Jeff’s flavorsome approach
to fresh, wholesome, healthful food and the importance
it has on healthy living made his service an instant
success. On The Range is now expanding to include a
personal chef placement service.
Jeff’s
creativity and culinary skills soon brought him to the
attention of one of the Food Network’s highest-rated
personalities. Asked to contribute several recipes for
some upcoming episodes, he soon found himself as the
go-to person for original and imaginative recipes. Jeff
is now Culinary Director overseeing all recipe and cookbook
development for Semi-homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee.
